The Priceless Woman Study

Proverbs 31:27
January 27, 2012By Pastor Wendy Williams

27She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.(KJV)

The virtuous woman tends to her own household.  She observes the state of her home, and manages it with a loving heart and a skillful hand.  Tasks are completed in a timely manner, and she makes sure everyone else does their part.  Although God has appointed the man to be the natural leader of the household, the virtuous woman "guides”  the house.  She is concerned about the ways of her family.  She teaches her children and her servants good manners so they will behave properly toward God and one another.

She doesn’t meddle in the concerns of other people’s houses.  She is too busy managing her own.  She doesn’t "eat the bread of idleness.  The "bread” of idleness is the "result” of idleness.  To make bread you must follow a process.  You have to mix the ingredients, let it rise, and then bake it.  Idleness is a state of not moving forward, a state of being stagnant, a state of inactivity.  Just like baking bread, eating the bread of idleness is progressive.  You would first have to become idle (mix the ingredients), then let it become a habit (let it rise), then let it become your lifestyle (then bake it).   Sleeping the day away, dwelling on Facebook in the evenings, not taking care of household and wifely duties or business matters, letting the house go, letting the children go, and letting yourself go....would be examples of eating the bread of idleness.

The virtuous woman is far too busy living her own life to let time waste away.  Every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month, and every year is precious.  She has goals, she is content, she is productive, and she is happy with her life.  She is walking out her destiny and purpose, and she is fulfilled.   (Repeat the GEM FOR TODAY throughouth the day)

GEM FOR TODAY:   Father, I thank You that I use my gifts and talents to pursue my destiny and purpose to Your glory.  I have goals, I am productive, and fulfilled.  I am content, and I am happy.  I will always keep moving forward.   (Men say) I AM A MAN OF VALOR, AND I VALUE GOD'S PRICELESS WOMAN!!! (Women say) I AM GOD'S PRICELESS WOMAN!!! In Jesus' Name, Amen

Being able to teach my family about God, and managing my home keep me on task. I am thankful to God to be able to have guidelines to model the Priceless Woman and not eat the bread of idleness.
