Proverbs 31:25
January 25, 2012By Pastor Wendy Williams

25Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. (KJV)

Including today, there are only 7 days remaining on this marvelous journey of self-discovery and self-improvement.  So far, you have learned that Lemuel was the affectionate name that Bathsheba gave to her son Solomon.  Solomon had forgotten his sacrifice of 1,000 burnt offerings and how God had blessed him with the gift of wisdom to judge the people along with great wealth that no man could compare.  He had lost his focus with 1,000 concubines (mistresses) and a drinking habit.  His mother prophesied a strong warning to him, and he wrote it in Proverbs Chapter 31 for our benefit.  The first 9 verses were a warning against drinking alcohol and forgetting his kingly duties.  Beginning with verse 10, his mother explained in great detail how to find a virtuous woman so Solomon could be fulfilled with one wife.

By now, you understand that the virtuous woman is not only a role model for women to aspire, but also a female role model for men to understand.  When they understand her attributes, they will know how to find her.  And, the married man can know and appreciate the virtuous attributes in the wife that he already has.

Strength and honor are her clothing, and she shall rejoice in time to come. In addition to all of the attributes that we have already learned, she is covered in the garments of strength and honor.   She is both strong and honorable.  "Honor" means:  "having honesty, fairness, integrity in ones beliefs and actions, distinction, high respect, worth, merit, high public esteem."   She knows her true worth and value can only be defined by Almighty God, her Creator.   So, she doesn't compromise her principles.  She is rare.  No man can put a price on her.  She is PRICELESS!!!  It doesn't matter about her past.  God only sees her future.  So, she never goes "on sale."  There can be no "coupons," no "mark downs" and no "discounts."   The man of valor will gladly pay "full price."   This means she doesn't have to compromise God's principles, her God-given gifts & talents, or her destiny & purpose to try to "find" a man.  The common man won't recognize her, but the man of valor will seek and find her.  Regardless of her past, her future is bright, and she shall rejoice in time to come.  (Repeat the GEM FOR TODAY throughout the day)

GEM FOR TODAY:   Father, I thank You for establishing the virtuous woman's worth and value.  Her price is far above rubies.  I choose to be a person of strength.  I turn away from my past, and I receive the future You have ordained for me.     (Men say) I AM A MAN OF VALOR, AND I VALUE GOD'S PRICELESS WOMAN!!! (Women say) I AM GOD'S PRICELESS WOMAN!!! In Jesus' Name, Amen
