Women Under Construction

Day 3
March 6, 2013By Pastor Wendy Williams

Day #3 LET'S GET TO WORK!  BE A DOER OF THE WORD AND NOT A HEARER ONLY.
After the man and woman were deceived by satan and the curse of sin and death entered the earth, everything became perverted.  God sent His Word to redeem us from the curse of sin and death.  Only by the shed Blood of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, are our spirits regenerated in the spirit realm.  But our souls must be renewed with our constant effort through faith.

Ro 12:1 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” (Romans 12:1-2)  God commands us to be transformed (renovated) by renewing our minds.  When God says "be ye transformed” that means we have the ability and the responsibility to change.  God would not be a fair and just God if he told us to do something that we didn’t give us the ability to do.  So with God’s help, change is necessary, and change is possible for you.

Man was made in the image of God as a tri-partite being.  (1) Man is a spirit.  (2) He possesses a soul, and (3) he lives inside a fleshly body in the natural realm.  The soul has five components (mind, will, emotions, imagination, and intellect).  As we focus on the components of the soul in this "Woman Under Construction” Bible study, we will examine the Word of God and put it into action in our lives.  Our goal is to be a doer of the Word and not just be a hearer.  "For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:  For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.  But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” (Jas 1:23-25)

God says the person who hears His word and doesn’t apply it to his/her life is like a man who looks in the mirror, walks away, and forgets what he looked like.  But the man who looks into liberty of His word and makes the needed changes in his life will be blessed.  Just like a freshly renovated luxury home is a blessing to those who inhabit it, blessings are in store for you when you renew your mind. God rewards us for our godly choices, and He blesses those who put His word into action in their lives.  (Post a comment on the Blog and repeat the following TOOL FOR TODAY several times)

TOOL FOR TODAY:  Thank you Lord for giving me the ability to renew my mind and make the needed changes in my life.  I choose to be renovated, and You reward me for the godly choices that I make.
